Stefan Bircheneder *1974, Vilshofen an der Donau, lives there and in Regensburg.
Stefan Bircheneder is interested in the world of work. In addition to office materials such as files, filing strips and cupboards, there are also places that were once bustling production sites and are now left to decay. He paints these photo-realistically in large formats with an immense spatial effect. Objects of these working worlds, such as lockers, he reconstructs folding out of canvas and, with the photorealistic reproduction of the interior and exterior views, also creates a feigned spatiality that is additionally disconcerting.
